What are the characteristics of an independent clause?

An independent clause is a clause that can stand on its own, by itself. It does not need to be joined to any other clauses, because it contains all the information necessary to be a complete sentences. Independent clauses have three components: They have a subject - they tell the reader what the sentence is about.

Explanation:

people belive that crime only occurs in non wealthy communties,  but in those communities more realtionships are built, whether it be wife and husband or best friends. in wealthy communities the same or more crime occurs, people care more about themselves and want to "one up eachother", but are eventually sometimes drowning in their wealth that they dont know what to do other than things they dont know about.
