Explanation:  After the Second World War, there was a tension between two super powers, the United States of America and the Soviet Union. The primary reason for these tensions was the aspiration of Western allies to prevent the spread of communism by the USSR. On the other hand, the Soviet Union did not conduct democratic elections in East European countries. Thus, tensions began to rise between the US and the USSR as the leading forces of the two opposing blocs. These tensions have grown into a Cold War, which is not a real war, but has implicated in a weapon competition,  technological discoveries, the aid of smaller states in war, and space race. Space race was one of the prestigious factors during the Cold War.
