The group of the secret police that supported Lenin's government was known as: CHEKA (in Russian), a secret police group created by the Soviet government in order to combat alleged conspiracies by counterrevolutionaries, as well as enemies of others countries
Lenin supported this group of secret police because of measures he took after suffering an assassination attempt by Fanya Kaplan.
Among the multiple functions of Cheka were to eradicate criminal gangs. The members of this organization were called chequistas and their clothing consisted of wearing leather jackets and their military units used to wear black clothing for war. The Cheka secret police practiced torture and murder methods ranging from stoning to beheading, among other terrible tortures.
