In this classic 16th century Chinese novel,Journey to the West, there are four primary characters:  Xuanzang, Sun Wukong, Sha Wujing and Zhu Bajie.

Xuanzang, the main character, is a monk who is sent on a pilgrimage.  At the end of his journey, he achieves Buddhahood, which would be described as the perfection of knowledge and wisdom.

Sun Wukong, is a disciple in the form of a monkey.  His reward for his part in the journey is an arhat, which is an acknowledgement of worthiness.  It is one step below Buddhahood.

Sha Wujing is a river ogre who must gain atonement for his transgression. His final outcome is to become a deity known as naga.  Commonly, naga is represented as a great snake or cobra.

Finally, there is Zhu Bajie, a creature of great lusts and appetites.  He is represented as a pig.  Fittingly, his reward is to become an altar cleanser.  He is responsible for cleaning up excess offerings left at Buddha’s altar.

How do you think fighting a two front war will go for Germany? Will they be successful? Will it be disastrous? Explain.
Nataliya [291]

Answer:

I think it will be disastrous. A two front war means they have to focus on more than one enemy at a time, on two different locations. This does not seen successful considering it is hard enough to focus attention to one front alone.

1. In your opinion, what does the quote “the government that governs the least, governs the best” from paragraph 12 mean? Based
Anastasy [175]

Answer:

The phrase "who governs less governs better" implies that any government that stays out of establishing unnecessary, bureaucratic or restrictive regulations or standards regarding the exercise of political and economic freedoms of citizens and companies of the country will obtain a better result in your government than those governments that do otherwise. This, indeed, is true, given that the governments that interfere the least in the private economy are those that have the best economic results at the end of their mandates.

Regarding Hoover's phrase, it is fallacious. Capitalism does not produce greed, but allows anyone who strives and directs his efforts towards personal growth to do so, without having a socialist state that restricts that growth through the collection of excessive taxes or the confiscation of profits.
