<span>Geographic information system is used to capture, manage and presenet spatial or geographic data. Mapping is the central function of GIS. It was widely used in mapping the rainforest in Borneo, third largest island, and arrived more alarming conclusions like loss of diversity, species becoming endangered etc.</span>
