    At the Attica workshops a funeral ceramics with a white background was developed, whose figures were defined exclusively by the contour line, precisely drawn and where the decoration prevailed for austerity (beautiful style);

    In this technique, the vase was covered with a white clay paint. Alternatively, only lines or figures were added in black using a thicker version of the black ink mentioned above and applied with a rigid brush or quill; as a result, a slight relief effect was achieved. Minor details were often added with a thinned black paint giving a yellowish brown color, a white clay and a dark red ocher and manganese. The last two colors tended to scale over time.
