One of the main differences between these two poems is that in "Stopping by Woods", the narrator knows exactly where he is going. He is taking a break but knows that he has many miles to go before he can rest. In "The Road Not Taken", the narrator is faced with a choice, and the poem is about the choice he made, there is much less certainty about his destination.
