POLITICAL MAPS

A political map does not show topographic features like mountains. It focuses solely on the state and national boundaries of a place. They also include the locations of cities large and small, depending on the detail of the map.

PHYSICAL MAPS

A physical map is one documents landscape features of a place.

TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS

A topographic map is similar to a physical map in that it shows different physical landscape features.

CLIMATE MAPS

A climate map shows information about the climate of an area.

ECONOMIC OR RESOURCE MAPS

An economic or resource map shows the specific types of economic activity or natural resources present in an area through the use of different symbols or colors depending on what is being shown on the map.

ROAD MAPS

A road map is one of the most widely used map types.

THEMATIC MAPS

A thematic map is a map that focuses on a particular theme or special topic.

2 A historical map is a modern map made to illustrate some past geographical situation or event.

3  Hence, a map of Boston published in 1775 is a historic map; while a map prepared in 2002 to show Boston in 1775 is a historical map. Old maps, like other historic documents, can be difficult to read.

4.The earliest paper maps that were identified by cartographers as maps used for navigation and to depict certain areas of the Earth were those created by the early Greeks. Anaximander was the first of the ancient Greeks to draw a map of the known world and as such he is considered to be one of the first cartographers.

5.  The fascination and interest for the world that we inhabit, has been inherent to human nature since prehistoric times. Some of the cave paintings and other representations on bones and artifacts, which used to be viewed as mere artistic representations, have turned to be, according to the latest investigations, maps of hunting areas, streams, routes, and even maps of the stars.

This is one of the important sociological perspective and is also known as consensus theory.

<u>Explanation:</u>

Functionalist perspective postulates that every aspect of society is responsible for its stability and proper functioning as each aspect or part of it is interdependent on other. Some of the sociologists who propagated this perspective were Emile Durkheim, Robert Merton and Talcott Parsons.

One example of functionalism is that government offers education to children of the country so that tomorrow that can support their near and dear ones and the funds which are used by government for providing education is the money of citizens only collected through taxes. So, here citizens and government are interdependent on each other.
