x^3=x\cdot x^2, and x(x^2-x+1)=x^3-x^2+x. Subtracting this from the dividend gives a remainder of

(x^3+1)-(x^3-x^2+x)=x^2-x+1

x^2=1\cdot x^2, and 1(x^2-x+1)=x^2-x+1. Subtracting this from the previous remainder gives a new one of

(x^2+x-1)-(x^2-x+1)=2x-2

x^2 does not divide 2x, so we're done, and we've found that

\dfrac{x^3+1}{x^2-x+1}=x+1+\dfrac{2x-2}{x^2-x+1}

i.e. you get a quotient of x+1 and a remainder of 2x-2.

We know that

At sea level, the height is 0 and
the pressure is 98 kilopascals

At 1000 ft, the height is 1000 and
the pressure <span>decreases about 11.41%

</span>i(100%-11.41%)/100----> (0.8859)

therefore
1) at 1000 ft--------> the pressure is 98*(0.8859)----------> 86.82 kilopascals
2) at 2000 ft--------> the pressure is 86.82*(0.8859)-------> 76.91 kilopascals
3) at 3000 ft--------> the pressure is 76.91*(0.8859)-------> 68.14 kilopascals
4) at 4000 ft---------> the pressure is 68.14*(0.8859)-------> 60.36 kilopascals

the answer is
<span>The pressure at an altitude of 4000 m is about </span>60.36 kilopascals

Jaime has 8/10 of a candy bar left over. He wants to split it into 1/3 pieces.
Valentin [98]

Answer:

2 pieces.

Step-by-step explanation:

To identify how many pieces he can split with 8/10 of a candy bar, divide 8/10 by 1/3.

<u>Divide 8/10 by 1/3:</u>

\frac{8}{10} / \frac{1}{3}=

<u>Find the Ricipricol, then flip the sign:</u>

\frac{8}{10} (\frac{3}{1} )=

<u>Multiply:</u>

<u />\frac{8}{10} (\frac{3}{1})=\frac{24}{10} =\frac{2.4}{1}

2.4 represents how many pieces of chocolate he can make with 8/10 of a candy bar.

However, 2.4 pieces can't be made, therefore he can only make 2 <u>full</u> pieces.
