True. This kind of psychology may be called Freudian Psychology or Jungian Psychology, but most commonly referred as Classical Mythology. This idea was spearhead by two psychologist, Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. They studied mythologies and showed how these stories talks about the taboos of a culture as well as their "perfect" image. Myths as Freud say, reflects a culture strongest fears and desires.
