The disposal and treatment of waste can produce emissions of several greenhouse gasses (GHGs), which contribute to global climate change. The most significant GHG gas produced from waste is methane. It is released during the breakdown of organic matter in landfills.

In landfills, a lot of times the garbage will biodegrade releasing methane gases into the atmosphere which can affect the climate by "Global Warming" or what is now known as Climate Change.

In which direction would you be traveling if you flew over mount Everest and then the Amazon river
ELEN [110]

You would be going west.

  • Mount Everest is located in Asia, at the border between China and Nepal.
  • The Amazon river is located in South America.

If you go from Asia to South America, you are travelling west.

You can be a little bit more specific by saying that you are going west-southwest, since Mount Everest is north of the equator and the Amazon river is located just below the equator.
