The function t(x) = x + 6 determines how many cans of soup a food truck needs to stock, where x is the number of shifts the crew

is going to work in the truck. The crew uses c(t(x)) to find the amount of money to spend on soup. The function c(x) = 2x + 4. Solve for how much money must be spent when the crew is going to work 4 shifts.

Answer:

Option A is correct.

The amount of money must be spent when the crew is going to work 4 shifts is, 24

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the function: t(x) = x+6 .....[1] ; where x represents the number of shifts the crew is going to work in the truck.

Also, the crew uses c(t(x)) which  represents the amount of money to spend on soup.

The function is given as:

c(x) = 2x + 4               .....[2]

To find c(t(x)) i.e, the money must be spent when the crew is going to work 4 shifts.

⇒ x = 4

First substitute the value of x in [1] to find t(x);

t(4) = 4+6 = 10

Then;

For x=4 ,

c(t(4)) = 2(t(4)) +4                   [Using equation [2]]

Substitute the value of t(4) = 10 we have;

c(t(4)) = 2(10) +4 = 20 + 4 = 24

Therefore, the amount must be spent when the crew is going to work 4 shifts is, 24

First, you have to solve t(x) when x=4, because the crew is working 4 scripts.    Which is t(x)=4+6
t(x)=10
Then, you plug in t(x) to c(x).
c(x)=2(10)+4
c(x)=24

soldier1979 [14.2K]
The equation is not clear whether it is y= e^{x+1} or y= e^{x} +1

for y= e^{x+1}

x=-2 ⇒ e^{-2+1}=0.37
x=1 ⇒ e^{-1+1} = e^{0}=1
e^{2+1}= e^{3}=20.10

for y= e^{x}+1

x=-2⇒y=e^{-2}+1 =1.14
x=1⇒y= e^{1} +1=3.72
x=2⇒y= e^{2}+1=8.39

Hint: Most scientific calculators have the template of e^{( )} which you can use to work out the value of y

The legs of an isosceles trapezoid have lengths of 48 - 7x and x + 8. What is the length of one of the legs?
sdas [7]

Answer:

13 units

Step-by-step explanation:

The legs of an isosceles trapezoid are congruent, then

x + 8 = 48 - 7x ( add 7x to both sides )

8x + 8 = 48 ( subtract 8 from both sides )

8x = 40 ( divide both sides by 8 )

x = 5

Then

leg = x + 8 = 5 + 8 = 13

The difference of two numbers is equal to 0.6. Their quotient is also 0.6. What are the numbers?
Murrr4er [49]

Solution:

we are given that

The difference of two numbers is equal to 0.6.

Let the numbers  be x and y so we can write

x-y=0.6......(i)

Their quotient is also 0.6.

so we can write

\frac{x}{y} =0.6.....(ii)

Now solve these two equations together we get

0.6y-y=0.6......(i)

-0.4y=0.6

y=-3/2=-1.5

x =0.6+y

x =0.6-1.5=-0.9

Hence the numbers are -1.5 and -0.9
