Answer:

B. The colonists had hundreds of reinforcements to add to their numbers.

Explanation:

The first settlement in Virginia was James town and it nearly failed, because they couldn´t work togheter as a group and they couldn´t  grow enough crops to feed them, so at first the natives helped them and traded with them, hoping that eventually and since the example was happening, they would all die, but more people kept coming and by the time the native americans realized that they were a threat, it was too late, the only reason for Virginia to be succesfull was the fact that tobacco was easy to grow and was a great product for trade, so the English continued to send more and more settlers and reinforcements to add to their numbers.

What are the consequences of a strict interpretation of the term "commerce" when deciding the constitutionality of federal laws?
djverab [1.8K]

Answer and Explanation:

1. If the term "trade" is interpreted strictly, the concept of free trade will be undermined. This is because the literal interpretation will give the State the power to completely control and manage trade, which interferes with the concepts of economic liberalism which states that the State should not meddle in commercial matters beyond the protection of property.

2. As a consequence of this strict interpretation there would be consequences in the relations between large and small companies, since the State could interfere in the way they are established and how they compete with each other.
