Why were many Americans critical of the Korean war?
Fed [463]
Many Americans were critical of the Korean War because they felt that the conflict was not relevant to American geo-political interests and that the war would result in unnecessary American bloodshed.  Many Americans were still haunted by memories of World War II and were reluctant to engage American troops in another war, especially one that was less clear cut in terms of its importance.  Furthermore, given the Soviet interest in North Korea, and America's support for South Korean, many Americans feared that the Korean War might lead directly to World War III.
