Answer:
One of the biggest influences on my personal life has been the people I'm around and the things I watch. I say coffee like Jerry Seinfeld because lately, I've been watching Seinfeld and things like that have rubbed off on me. For my development, however, I don't really remember a whole lot of my childhood, but I'd guess I was raised to be a little more "adult" than other kids, mostly because that's who I was around most of the time. My parents and their friends didn't have any kids my age so I was stuck listening to politics and city developments. At the time, I probably thought it was insanely boring, but in hindsight, I'm a lot more mature than I would have been if I only hung around kids my age. My parents and I have a good relationship, so I've picked up on things they do/say, just like how I do with my friends. I've always thought that was interesting, how people pick up on things other people do. Little details they notice, little details they don't but still cling onto them. I'd bet my friends have copied my movements or said a phrase I do, just because they hang out with me. That's just the human experience.

It's been a while. I'm assuming the girl is Lucy
Gatsby by had always wanted wealth and had possibly resorted to underhand means to achieve it.
Yet he would never be able to achieve old money, the type of wealth and fame accumulated over the years, and the same type that was cheated from him by the dead captain's relatives.
Gatsby also failed to get together with Lucy, the love of his life. He bought a mansion right across from her's and held parties hoping that Lucy might attend one of them. Yet he could never get together with her. Lucy still chose to stay with Tom, and Gatsby was fatally shot by Wilson before he could try again.
So. Old money. Love.
