Also, a country called "Kazakhstan" is in the top ten for supplies of copper, iron, gold, and manganese. Pretty much, the Communists were much stronger than the Nationalists. Their public support was strong due to promised land reform for peasants and their military organization was more experienced. The Nationalists had weak, public support and their military was ineffective, corrupt leadership and poor morale. They were an easy beat.
