Why did the Court reason that certain amendments in the Bill of Rights cast a “penumbra of privacy”?

History

Answer:

The Supreme Court has ruled that the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment prevents state governments from infringing on the right to privacy.

Explanation:

The Fourteenth Amendment clause guaranteeing that no state shall “deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.” The Supreme Court has interpreted the due process clause to provide for “selective incorporation” of amendments into the states, meaning that neither the states nor the federal government may abridge individual rights protected by the Constitution.

Although there’s no enumerated “right to privacy” in the Bill of Rights, since the 1960s the Supreme Court has held that several amendments create a “penumbra” of privacy for individuals’ private beliefs and conduct.

Why is defying gender
roles so threatening to
some people in
society?
TiliK225 [7]

Answer: To some people they discriminate this off of religion. Like christians, they follow the rule of Adam and Eve; the first man and woman on earth. They ONLY focused on Adam and Eve. I would think there were more people on earth back then; not just Adam and Eve, with more than one gender but I guess according to christians, this didn't exist. So christians today only follow stuff from a book that was written thousands years ago. once a person doesn't follow that path of god, they are now a person of the devil. Now taking religion out of it, this is taught through a family or friends perspective and sometimes society on why this is wrong

What was the key difference between the middle colonies and new england regarding religion
exis [7]

Basically the middle colonies had multiple regions why new England mostly focused around one Christianity or catholic The presence of Quakers, Mennonites, Lutherans, Dutch Calvinists, and Presbyterians made the dominance of one faith next to impossible.

The official religion of England is Christianity, as practiced by the Church of England (Anglican). In Scotland the official Church is the Presbyterian Church of Scotland. Other Christians in each country also include the Roman Catholics and the Methodists.
