What is one essential element of historical fiction?
Agata [3.3K]

An essential element of historical fiction is the story blends elements of fictional narrative and historical fact.

In order for a fictionalized story to be based on real events, the author should include historical material.

Historical materials relate the past actions which are majorly based on true facts and events. The events are related to something or someone. Historical materials help in linking the fictionalized story to be real and relate to the theme of the story more accurately and clearly. The setting, plot, and character play a major role in the story. Hence, relating them with the historical materials it reflects the story to be authentic and eventful.
