Costa Rica is part of Central America, this country is located to the North of Panama, and the South of Nicaragua. This has led to multiple efforts to protect wildlife and wilderness that include the creation of many reserves and national parks that in Costa Rica cover a 25% of the territory (more than any other country), this includes 28 national parks, 20 reserves, 32 protected zones, and many other areas to protect diversity. Thus, it is true that Costa Rica has many reserves and national parks that protect the country's wilderness and wildlife.
