Answer:

<em>Hence, it will take</em><em> 9 seconds </em><em>for kirk to run </em><em>63+9=72 yards </em><em>and catch upto Max. </em>

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 'y' represents the time Max and Kirk took to meet.

Let the distance between the destination where they will meet from the place where Max is be: x yards

So the distance of destination from initial position of kirk is x+9 yards ( As Max is given a head start of 9 yards)

  • As speed of Max is 7 yards per sec.

And speed=\dfrac{distance}{time}

Hence,

7=\dfrac{x}{y}

7y=x\\\\-x+7y=0-------(1)

  • also speed of kirk is 8 yards per second.

         By the similar definition of speed we have:

         8=\dfrac{x+9}{y}\\\\8y=x+9\\\\-x+8y=9--------(2)

Hence (1) and (2) are the required system of equation.

So on solving the system of equations by elimination method we have:

y=9 and x=63.

Hence, it will take 9 seconds for kirk to run 63+9=72 yards and catch upto Max.

Please help i have no clue
kozerog [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Question (1)

x² + 10x + 12

= x² + 2(5x) + 5² - 5² + 12

= [x² + 2(5x) + 5²] - 5² + 12

= (x + 5)² - 25 + 12 [Since, a² + 2ab + b² = (a + b)²]

= (x + 5)² - 13

Question (2)

y² - 6y - 15

= y² - 2(3y) - 15

= y² - 2(3y) + 3² - 3² - 15

= [y² - 2(3y) + 3²] - 3² - 15 [Since, a² - 2ab + b² = (a - b)²]

= (y - 3)² - 3²- 15

= (y - 3)² - 9 - 15

= (y - 3)² - 24
