Answer:

D) It proves that Farquhar is experiencing a dream before that fact is revealed to the reader.

Explanation:

In his dream Farquhar felt so glad because somehow his hands were released, and he saw, sensed and perceived everything so beautiful and fantastic, he could even taste the fragrance of the blooms. When he was suddenly awakened from his dream by the whiz and rattle of the grapeshot he faced again his brutal reality. He found out he might have been travelling for quite a time. Silence and darkness surrounds him. He is dead.

How is a baby duck’s instinct for protection different that a porcupine’s instinct to protect itself?
Westkost [7]

The duck has no system of defense like a porcupine so their instinct is thus different

Explanation:

A porcupine defends itself from an attacker by keeping its face hidden on the bare ground and keeping its belly down to the ground while shooting up the quills on its back.

The quills are not poisonous but still can kill an assailant.

The duck has no such form of defense so it often has the instinct of hiding and not doing that position.

The duck usually tries to run away from the danger as it has no advantage in standing the ground to defend.
