Hey there :)

Let us first translate words into mathematics!

Sum of 2 numbers is 52
x + y = 52

Difference of 2 numbers is 9
x - y = 9

(eq.1)  x + y = 52
(eq.2) x - y = 9
Add both equations :   x + y = 52
                                   +  x - y = 9
                                         2x = 61
                                        x = 30.5
We now have the value of x, substitute into eithe formulae to find y
x - y = 9 , 30.5 - y = 9 , 30.5 - 9 = y , 21.5 = y
x + y = 52 , 30.5 + y = 52 , 52 - 30.5 = y , 21.5 = y

x = 30.5
y = 21.5

What do I type in the box pls help???
MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

f(x)=3x-5

g(x)=-6x²+6x+2

f(x)×g(x)

=(3x-5)(-6x²+6x+2)( use distributive property)

=(3x×-6x²)+(3x×6x)+(3x×2)+(-5×-6x²)+(-5×6x)+(-5×2)

=(-18x³)+(18x²)+6x+30x²-30x-10

=-18x³+18x²+6x-30x+30x²-10

=-18x³+18x²-24x+30x²-10

=-18x³+18x²+30x²-10

=-18x³+48x²-10---------------you may write this answer

Find the domain and range of a parabola with vertex (3, 4) and focus (1, 4).
hammer [34]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  • domain: (-∞, 3]
  • range: (-∞, ∞)

Step-by-step explanation:

The focus is to the left of the vertex, so the parabola opens to the left. The domain is all values of x less than or equal to 3: (-∞, 3].

The vertical extent of the graph is all real numbers, so the range is (-∞, ∞).

__

The graph shows the focus and directrix as well as the parabola.
