The erosion causes physical changes of the environment. This process is responsible for braking down rocks to smaller pieces, and even making them sandy over time. Once this is done, the erosion is slowly (occasionally in a sudden manner) is starting to remove layers of the surface of a particular place, and moving them to another place (which is the process of deposition), thus changing the physical appearance of the place.
