English

Language is a system of signs represrnting ideas to convey a message. Those symbols, which are words can be arbitrary, ambiguous, abstract representations of other phenomena. Words are not intrinsically connected to what they represent. Meanings of words can shift over time. The arbitrary character allows us to invent new words.

Language is ruled guided, simply put, verbal communication is guided by unspoken but broadly understood rules.

So I would say that option A, C and D are correct.

Meanwhile, I think that option B is incorrect since a mean of communication is understood as the tool and technology employed in order to convey a message, exchange information, ideas.

I would say that all of these options can be applied to languages. Language is a system of signs representing ideas - we have our letters, or characters in Asian languages that help us write down what we want to express. B is also correct because when you communicate, be it verbal or nonverbal communication, you are using a form of a language. C is also correct because all languages have been made up by someone. D is also true because all languages have some kind of rules that govern them.

Personification in Walk Two Moons. List the chapter along with the personification.
Svet_ta [14]

Answer:

I assume you need to find an example of personification in the novel. Here is a complete sentence with the personification in bold: "During the week before we left, the sound of the wind was hurry, hurry, hurry, and at night even the silent darkness whispered rush, rush, rush." This example is from Chapter 2. The Chickabiddy Starts a Story.

Explanation:

Personification is a figure of speech that ascribes human features or qualities to non-human things - animals, objects, or notions. In this example, we have darkness as a non-human notion. Yet it whispers, which only humans can do. By using a personification here, the author enlivens the scene, producing a memorable dramatic effect.

Hi I need an idea for a Christmas story for children 6 to 9 years old.
Xelga [282]
Hey there,

Answer:

I would really love to help you out. You could probably write a book about giving during Christmas.

Gist of the story - You could add in a few characters lets say Jim and Jane. You could actually contrast both of them by saying that Jim had a giving attitude but Jane had a taking attitude. And you can say that how Santa gave them a quest to complete and Jane learnt the importance of giving.

Summary:
Here they are, Jim and Jane in North Pole. They had received an invitation from Santa. But why? Will Jane learn her lesson? Will Santa take her off the naughty list? To know read this amazing story of giving.

Hope this helps :D And good luck with your story
