The correct answer is option C "insuring domestic tranquility". Among the mandates that Federal government must follow according to the preamble of the US Constitution, insuring domestic tranquility is the one related to maintaining order in society. Domestic tranquility means peace and quiet at home, Federal government must provide the elements necessary to assure that this is possible in order to maintain order in society.

What geographical feature separated the United Kingdom from the rest of Europe
AfilCa [17]

The geographical feature that separates the United Kingdom from the rest of Europe is the North Sea.

The North Sea is the water body that lies between the United Kingdom and the continental part of Europe. With France and Benelux being just on the south of it, and the Scandinavian Peninsula on the east. We can also include the English Channel, as it is separating part of the north of France and the south of the United Kingdom.

This was not always the case, and the territory of the United Kingdom was relatively recently (geologically speaking) connected by land with the rest of Europe through a land that is now bellow water called Doggerland, and that was until the end of the last ice age.

What two events helped bring about the Renaissance
Xelga [282]
One could be the rise of towns and the crusades.  The Crusades was a campaign to reclaim the Holy from Muslim rule.  Despite the number of campaigns launched.  The Holy remained under Muslim control and this weakened the feudal system as the nobility spent most of their wealth on these campaigns.  This led to the growth of towns where merchants grew rich and became a force in society which led to the rise of the Renaissance where interest was centered on the classics.
