Answer:

The correct answer is

B- A stout lieutenant shouted, “Attention!”

Explanation:

When including a quotation in a text, we need to follow certain guidelines and rules for punctuation and capitalization.

In this case, we need to do the following:

 • Place a comma before the quotation
 • Open with quotation marks
 • First letter of quotation should start with capital letter.
 • As exclamation marks are part of the quotation, they must be included within the quotation marks.

The rest of the options are incorrect since they do not include he characteristics mentioned before.

Option A-A is missing the comma before the quotation and the first letter in the quotation is not capitalized.

B- A stout lieutenant shouted, “Attention”! is leaving the exclamation marks outside the quotation.

Option C-A is missing the comma before the quotation.

Answer:

B. acknowledge an alternative perspective

Explanation:

The sentence shown above was said by Kellogg in his acceptance speech. In this sentence he is referring to the existence of people who present an alternative perspective to that presented by the Parris Pact, which prohibits the development of wars between countries that wish to resolve disagreements between them.

People who have an alternative perspective, believe that this treaty is not enough to prevent wars, but that it is necessary for a world court to aggressively punish people who created these wars.

Evaluate the poem
Vikki [24]
Nothing Gold Can Stay is a short poem of eight lines that contains subtle yet profound messages within metaphor, paradox and allegory. It is a compressed piece of work in which each word and sound plays its part in full.

Written when Frost was 48 years old, an experienced poet, whose life had known grief and family tragedy, the poem focuses on the inevitability of loss - how nature, time and mythology are all subject to cycles.

As with many a Frost poem, close observation of the natural world is the foundation for building poetic truths, inside of which lie hidden messages and ideas.

When the leaves start to show in the season of spring they are perceived as gold, but soon turn to familiar green and before too long they're fading as victims of time.

So it's possible to pick out three distinct associations:

the season of spring - holding on to precious color.
time - and the pace of life.
Eden - how humans experience grief and shame.

Why do some of the hens rise up against Napoleon? How does Napoleon react to their insubordination? Cite evidence from the text
abruzzese [7]

This question is about the novella "Animal Farm" by George Orwell.

Answer and Explanation:

Why do some of the hens rise up against Napoleon?

Napoleon determines that they will start selling the hens' eggs. His excuse for doing so is to obtain materials for the construction of the windmill. According to him, all the animals will have to make sacrifices, and that is the hens' sacrifice to make. The hens are not happy about it and decide to rebel. They fly and perch themselves upon the rafters, so that the eggs they lay will fall to the floor and break open.

How does Napoleon react to their insubordination?

To punish them and end their strike, Napoleon ordered the hens' rations to be stopped. He even determines that no animal shall give the hens any food, or else they will be killed as a punishment. The excerpt below is evidence:

When the hens heard this, they raised a terrible outcry. They had been warned earlier that this sacrifice might be necessary, but had not believed that it would really happen. [...] the hens made a determined effort to thwart Napoleon's wishes. Their method was to fly up to the rafters and there lay their eggs, which smashed to pieces on the floor. Napoleon acted swiftly and ruthlessly. He ordered the hens' rations to be stopped, and decreed that any animal giving so much as a grain of corn to a hen should be punished by death. [...] For five days the hens held out, then they capitulated and went back to their nesting boxes. Nine hens had died in the meantime.
