Why is it important to match case subjects and control subjects so closely in a case-control study?

Business

In every experiment, control plays an important role. In a case-control study, the control subject does not change while the case subjects might differ in characteristics from each other. A case-control study is used to identify the factors contributing to a medical condition. A case subject refers to people actually suffering from the disease. A control subject refers to people who are suffering from the disease but similar to the case study.
It is very important to match case subjects and control subject to compare and contrast the results obtained from the experiment and to derive a conclusion. The control subject also keeps a track of the experiment.

You will receive annual payments of $800 at the end of each year for 12 years. The first payment will be received in Year 3. Wha
Aneli [31]

Answer:

Option (d) $5,549.96

Explanation:

Data provided in the question:

Annual payments = $800

Time, n = 12 years

Discount rate, r = 7% = 0.07

Now,

PV2 = Annual payments × ((1 - (1 + r)⁻ⁿ)) ÷ r ) × (1 + r)

=  $800 × ( (1 - ( 1 + 0.07)¹²)) ÷ 0.07) × (1 + 0.07)

PV2 = $6,354.15

Therefore,

Present value today = PV2 ÷ (1 + r )²

= $6,354.15 ÷ (1 + .07)²

or

= $5,549.96

Hence,

Option (d) $5,549.96

Mrac [35]

Answer: $480

Explanation:

Given that,

Scrap value of metal = $480

press is six years old, Original cost = $174,000

Current book value = $3,570

Since, we know that the realizable value of the printing press is only $ 480, so  tattle teller should assign the same as the initial cost of the new project.

Hence, $480 will be the initial cost of press for the new project.
