i think it may be the first one on there and thats he believed the indians would fight each other until they all perished unless they were assimilated. please tell me if im wrong.

The president Thomas Jefferson favored assimilation because he believed the Indians would fight each other until they all perished unless they were assimilated. This is the most likely reason, he also considered that if they assimilated them, there would be no tensions anymore between the people who lived in the US and the native Americans who had been there before.
