Answer:

The correct answer is Sympathetic and Parasympathetic nervous system.

Explanation:

The autonomous nervous system is conformed by the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system.

The body’s stress response is mediated by the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) system. The sympathetic nervous system prepares the body for stressful situations that require an alert state or strength. It is responsible for the neural fight-or-flight response to stress.

In a stressful situation the hypothalamus, which is in charge of the stress response, sends signals to the pituitary gland and the adrenal medulla. The adrenal medulla secretes the neurotransmitters and hormones adrenaline and noradrenalin to the bloodstream. These hormones get the body ready for a response to stress, by increasing heart biting frequency and strength, increasing blood pressure, stimulating respiration, and dilating respiratory tracts.

The parasympathetic nervous system is activated during rest and digestion, and this occurs when the threat factor is over, and the body gets back into a balanced state.

In general, parasympathetic nervous system´s actions are contrary to the sympathetic nervous system. It reduces arterial pressure, respiratory and cardiac frequency, and maintain energy through relaxation and rest.

Describe the reason why humans have a blind spot in their vision.
Temka [501]
The natural blind spot is due to lack of receptors where the optic nerve and blood vessels leave the eye. There can also be artificial blind spots when something blocks light from reaching the photoreceptors, or when there is local adaptation of the retina as just after seeing a bright light

4. What information would allow you to distinguish between homologous vs. analogous (AKA homoplastic) traits, or to decide wheth
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

Homologies - phenotypic and genetic similarities due to shared ancestry

Analogies (homoplastic) - similarities between two species due to convergent evolution instead of descent from a common ancestor with the same trait

In general, organisms that share very similar morphologies or similar DNA sequences are likely to be more closely related than organisms with vastly different structures or sequences. In some cases, however, the morphological divergence between related species can be great and their genetic divergence small (or vice versa).

(plants very different, bc diverged 50 mil years ago)

If internal anatomy, physiology, and reproductive systems are very dissimilar, probably analogous.

The more elements that are similar in two complex structures, the more likely it is that the structures evolved from a common ancestor. If genes in two organisms share many portions of their nucleotide sequences, it is likely that the genes are homologous.:

Is it ever possible for two parents to have a colorblind daughter but not a color blind son? Explain.
Anna [14]
Yes, it’s possible. The genetic that they give out to their children depends. If the parents gives out the genes for colorblind for the daughter but not the son, it’s possible.

It’s just like having a child with disabilities and another child that is perfectly healthy.

35. Explain the cause and effect of nondisjunction.
Arisa [49]

Explanation:

Nondisjunction: Failure of paired chromosomes to separate (to disjoin) during cell division, so that both chromosomes go to one daughter cell and none go to the other. Nondisjunction causes errors in chromosome number, such as trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) and monosomy X (Turner syndrome). It is also a common cause of early spontaneous abortions
