Why would citizens in the newly independent country of Latvia remove this statue of former Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin?
sladkih [1.3K]
They could do it because they didn't support communism. The Soviet Union incorporated many European states, not just Russia. If they weren't with the party they would probably get removed. Such countries were numerous, including Latvia, Lithuania, Georgia, Ukraine, and many similar countries. Many of these countries have bad memories about that period and are against the Communists and against the soviet union which is why they would remove the statue of Lenin.

What invention made it possible for large numbers of books and copies of Italian art to spread to northern Europe?
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

The correct answer is the printing press.

Explanation:

The printing press, invented by Johannes Gutenberg, had a really strong impact on European society. Thanks to this invention, books became cheap, durable and extended all over Europe.

As the origins of the Renaissance are in Italy, the printing press helped many Italian authors and artists to spread their Renaissance ideas and writings in the rest of Europe, including the northern parts.

Also, it was very suitable for spreading religious influences (by mass printing of the Bible) and many illiterate people learned how to write and read.
