Help with number 5....

Mathematics
1 answer:

Alice is correct. If she multiplies the dividend and divisor by 4, the divisor becomes 1.

That one is true because if you multiply the divisor by 4, it becomes 0.25*4 = 1.
Of course, you can't multiply the divisor without multiplying the dividend.

So 15.5 / 0.25 = (15.5 * 4) / (0.25 * 4) = 62 / 1

And we know that if you divide a number by 1, the answer is that number.

so 62/1 = 62.

Which means that Alice found the quotient without even dividing based on Answer C.

Hope this helps! :)

If f(x) = x2 – 2x and g(x) = 6x + 4, for which value of x does (f + g)(x) = 0?
Angelina_Jolie [31]

Answer:

x = - 2

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) + g(x) = x² - 2x + 6x + 4 = x² + 4x + 4, hence

x² + 4x + 4 = 0 ← This is a perfect square in the form

(x + a)² = x² + 2ax + a²

Hence 2a = 4 ⇒ a = 2, thus

(x + 2)² = 0

x+ 2 = 0 ⇒ x = - 2 ( 2 equal roots )

Value of x = - 2

icang [17]

Answer:

5/10 or 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope is change in y over change in x. In this case every time y goes up by 5 x goes up by 10 making the slope 5/10 and if it is simplified 1/2
