Hey Gardneun!
In their plantations in Brazil, the Portuguese chose to grow sugarcane as it was appropriate for the climate and it was practical and efficient for the slave work. It was also a good and required item in the slave cycle (that went from Europe to Africa, Africa to South America, South America to Europe).

Hope I was able to help! If you have any further questions, please let me know and I will further assist you!

What unique factors allowed the East African trading kingdoms to expand their trade
Firlakuza [10]
In ancient times, powerful kingdoms also arose in East Africa. The kingdom of Kush thrived on the Nile River for hundreds of years. The kingdom benefited from its location on the Red Sea. It was an important stop on the trade route linking Africa, the Mediterranean, and India.

Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas had opposing views on how to deal with slavery in the United States. Please read each quote
ozzi
Ok so step 2, Does Lincoln think that we can continue to have some slave states and some free states. Lincoln wanted freedom in ALL states. he wanted to abolish slavery and he was against it. He knows that there cannot be a agreement so he says I believe this government cannot endure permanently half-slave and half-free. he he says he doesn't think the government has a say so in this even though he wants all free states.

Does Douglas think we can continue to have some slave states and some free states?
he's saying that each State being left free to decide for itself. SO in other words, he says that it's shouldn't be up to the gov, but up to the states.

i don't really know much about the part where is says. Tell me about a historic idea that supports Douglas’ point of view on this. but i hope that was some help, let me know if u have questions.
