I think that life outside of school as an adult will be much more important than being a student. I think that because as a kid you are protected from most things, and are also forgiven for most things you do. This is different from when you are an adult. As an adult you are taken more seriously, and have more responsibilities than a child. Hope this helps!

He also goes over how to pick good food V.S. rotten food. Eighner intentionally presents himself as educated not only to disprove any assumptions the reader may have about him based on his socioeconomic status, but also to relate to the target audience. This is effective for the author's argument because by doing this he was able to reach a wider audience such as being published in the Threepenny Review.
