defon

Answer:

For decades, researchers have suspected that the gargantuan basin was created by a head-on collision with a very large, very fast meteor. Such an impact would have ripped the moon's crust apart and scattered chunks of lunar mantle across the crater's surface, providing a rare glimpse at what the moon is really made of.

Explain how the cutting of Zitkala-Ša's hair is an example of forcing her to assimilate to American culture:
lord [1]
I’ve never read the story but you can say that forcing her to cut her hair makes her “fit in” with the other people more and takes away from her original culture since she doesn’t physically have anything left to show about her true culture. she might try to start hiding her culture now because people are making her think that she needs to. in the future, she might make her kids cut their hair too and they might make their kids cut their hair etc. etc. which then makes the tradition of long hair eventually fade away.

What were the immediate conflicts and deeper causes that led the united states and the soviet union to go from being allies to b
aleksley [76]
Immediate conflicts:
... The USA had atomic weapons and the USSR did not.  (The US would not share that technology with the Soviets.)
... The USSR did not assure that free and fair elections took place in Eastern Europe -- it saw to it that Soviet-aligned governments were installed there.
... Tensions over the East Germany / West Germany and East Berlin / West Berlin division of territory.

Deeper causes:
The USA was committed to capitalism and democratic institutions of government.
The USSR was committed to communism and imposed authoritarian government.
The Cold War was mostly a tension between these worldviews.

Its purpose is to get the temple closer to the heavens, and provide access from the ground to it via steps. The Mesopotamians believed that these pyramid temples connected heaven and earth.
