The metal heats faster than the water because it requires less energy to heat it up (it has a lower heat capacity). 4. Why do you think different substances heat up and cool down at different rates? ... Water has a very high potential energy due the intermolecular forces between the polar water molecules.

How is a tendon different from a ligament? A. A tendon joins a bone to a bone; a ligament joins a muscle to a bone. B. A tendon
rusak2 [61]
B is correct. A tendon will join a muscle to a bone, and a ligament joins a bone to another bone. I think of it this way, partly influenced by my biology teacher:

- The achilles tendon, at the back of your foot, clearly joins foot to calf muscle
- The word ligament comes from 'deligare' in Latin, which roughly means to tie together. A ligament 'ties' two bones together

I hope this helps

Describe how the dna code is translated into messenger rna
Amiraneli [1.4K]
There are many steps for that and here I'm going to explain it to you. The first step is that a cell copies the genetic instructions and then the dna unrolls. The second step is that RNA polymerase binds onto the strand. Then the third step is that the messenger RNA is ordered to go out of the nucleus into the cytoplasm to a ribosome. ANd the final step is the the ribosomes then take the mRNA and translate it into amino acids. That is how it is translated

stiks02 [169]
An anatomist studies the parts of the body by looking at the physical components of the that body part and identifying its functions. A physiologist looks at the mechanism at how a body part functions. The components of the eye according to an anatomist would be based on the different physical components of the eye while to a physiologist, the components would be based on the functions.
