Brown v. Board of Education was a Supreme Court case, in 1954. The state of Georgia General Assembly supported segregation in its public schools, and declared the rulling null and devoid. They did not accept desegregation at all and allowed the Governor to shutdown schools that were desegregating.
I think the United States help Western European countries regain their economic strength in order to hold off the threat of communism by initiating the Marshall Plan.
