Answer: 1. Germany - b. wanted a treaty based on the armistice it had signed.

2. France - d. wanted to punish and weaken Germany.

3. Italy - c. wanted territories near the Adriatic that Britain had earlier promised.

4. United States - a. wanted to establish a lasting peace in Europe.

Every country had its own interest during and after the World War I, so everyone was trying their best to achieve their goals, and get as much as possible in accordance to their respective situation and influence at the moment. While some wanted to establish peace, others were aiming on enlarging their territories by overtaking other nations, some were seeing an opportunity for revenge, and some wanted (or pretended to want) that everyone is keeping to the things they have signed in the treaty.
