This question could be a bit clearer, specifically regarding the time period, but a safe answer is always a powerful navy

England, being an island nation, needed a dominant naval force in order to project power abroad and conquer new territories. They did so in the first few hundred years of the Modern Era, assembling a navy that was vastly more powerful than any potential rival. This enabled England to establish a presence in places ranging from the Americas to Hong Kong to India.

England had many rivals such as the French, Dutch, Portuguese, and Spanish. England watched as other countries explored foreign lands and claimed them as their own. Through gaining new lands, these countries built their financial strength and gained political power. Finally, under the rule of Queen Elizabeth l, England stopped watching and decided to change. What England needed before challenging rival nations in their quest for foreign territories is a unified government and strong naval force.

(Took the test and this was correct.)

Hope this helps!

In "What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish?", the last section of the story is a flash forward. Readers must infer what happens
geniusboy [140]
When you flash forward and skip to the end result, there are many ways to imagine what could have happened in between. This structure can be either effective or not; but it depends on each individual case. In this instance, it wasn't necessary to know exactly what happened in between about the details of Sergei's decision because the most prominent point of this story was the result of what happened in the beginning. It leaves more to the imagination and truly leaves the reader thinking about Sergei's decision; it doesn't particularly matter how he arrived there. We know he was in a challenging position and no matter what he was going to face challenges leading up to the ending.

pav-90 [236]

Answer:

What is happening between the two of them, reminds me a bit of what happened during WWII when America cut the distribution of oil from Japan because of what they were doing to China at the time, which then led to the bombing of Pearl Harbor and then into the escalation of Germany becoming involved in the war and creating on of the worst wars in out history to date.
