BOURGEOISIE was the social class composed mainly by the merchants during the Late Middle Ages. This new social class was made up by professionals, merchants, and manufacturers among others. The decay of the feudal system, the expansion of the market (England and Netherlands as financial forces) and the emergence of Capitalism were some of the key factors in the development of the bourgeoisie.
