By 1914 the major European powers had split into two Alliance comprising of; Tripple Entente which comprised of Britain, France, and Russia, while, Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy formed the Tripple Alliance. The basic human right as outlined in "The Universal Declaration of Human Rights", Article 3 states that we have the right to life, liberty and personal security. The rest of the declaration enumerates all the rights one can think of. On the other hand, the classical teachings on the rights of humanity is very different from what we have now. From the example Mosaic law "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", this principle means if you kill somebody, you too must be killed. If viewed today, this is not acceptable in the norms of the society.
