Answer:

Hernán Cortés was a Spanish conquistador, or conqueror, best remembered for conquering the Aztec empire in 1521 and claiming Mexico for Spain

Explanation:

Cortes was easily able to conquer the Aztecs because of three main reasons

One:  The Spanish had new large weapons that were better and stronger than anything the Aztec had.

Two: With new people coming ashore new diseases also did. More than half of the Aztec who's immune system never saw this died o  things such as smallpox

Three: Archaeologists also believe there was a volcanic eruption that destroyed the buildings and land of the Aztec.

As you can see with these three contributing factors the fall of the Aztec empire was quick and easy

Which sentence from the text best summarizes the central idea? A) "We now use the word 'Celt' to describe many distinct groups w
aksik [14]

Answer:  D) "We remain fascinated by the history, myths, languages, and artistic expressions of a culture once conquered by Rome but, remarkably, still thriving."

Explanation:

This is based on the article, ''Who were the Celts''. The article talks about the history of the Celts as well as their culture and practices as well as the languages they spoke up until they were conquered by Rome and a lot of their culture was lost.

The main point of this article is that, even though Celtic culture was largely lost, we remain fascinated enough to keep studying it. Option D embodies this and so is the correct answer.
