Analyze the way in which “Tattoo” by Gregg Shapiro is related to the issues of a historical time period.
Kazeer [188]
The poem "Tatoo" by Greg Shapiro is about the experience of his father as a Holocaust victim in WWII and how he wishes he could have been the one to suffer and not his dad and how he and his dad are worlds apart due to how his dad suffered unimaginably.

Find 3 direct quotes in the story that portray how cold it is outside in To Build a Fire
nikdorinn [45]

Answer: The quotes "Fifty degrees below zero meant 80 degrees of frost", "The dog made quick  efforts to get the ice off its legs." and "As he laughed,  he noted the numbness in his bare fingers."

Explanation: The story narrates the experience of the main character facing  different challenges that come with coldness. He was not very good at foreseeing the consequences of some facts. He knew "Fifty degrees below zero meant 80 degrees of frost", but he didn't imagine man's weakness to extreme temperatures. It also mentions the experience of his companionship; "The dog made quick  efforts to get the ice off its legs." it shows that the dog was struggling with the ice made by the wheather too. And finally "As he laughed,  he noted the numbness in his bare fingers.", implying that his fingers were so frozen that he couldn't move them.
