Just like individual players in a sports team, every photosynthetic pigments in a plant has their role in absorbing wavelength to be used in making food.
Chlorophyll - absorbs yellow and blue wavelength and reflects green
Carotenoids - they are accessory pigments and function as light-harvesting pigment
Phycobilins - absorb yellow, green, orange and red light.

Answer:

There are four types of pigments found in plants; chlorophyll, carotenoids, flavonoids, and betalains.

Like players of a sports team play in the synchronized way in order to achieve a common goal of winning a tournament, pigments of a plant also play in a synchronized way to achieve a common goal.

For example, chlorophyll and carotenoids play together to utilize light energy of the sun for the process of photosynthesis.

Chlorophyll is major pigment which absorbs the yellow and blue wavelength of the light. Carotenoids serve as the accessory pigments which help in absorbing other wavelengths of light. In addition, they protect chlorophyll from photooxidative damage.

Similarly, flavonoids and betalains are water-soluble pigments which perform a common function of providing color to the parts of plants such as leaves, flowers, stem et cetera. It would help in insect pollination by attracting different types of insects.

The continuous, low-level extinction of species is referred to as ___ extinction.
Mice21 [21]

The continuous, low-level extinction of species is referred to as mass extinction.

  • A widespread and quick decline in the diversity of life on Earth is known as an extinction event.
  • A sudden shift in the diversity and abundance of multicellular creatures serves as a telltale sign of such an occurrence. It happens when the rate of diversification outpaces the rate of extinction.
  • A mass extinction event occurs when a species disappears far more quickly than it is replaced.
  • This is typically understood as the loss of almost 75% of all species over a "short" period of geological time, or fewer than 2.8 million years.
  • The Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction, sometimes known as the day the dinosaurs died, is the most well-known of all the mass extinction events.

Scientists have a great deal of responsibility. Why is it important for scientists to communicate their results accurately to pe
Scrat [10]
Because everything scientists do or see is put out where the whole world can see. But if they don’t do it accurately then they get proved wrong or even lose their job. And the more accurate an answer is the more opportunity they have to venture and see more Han what they already know.
