Just like individual players in a sports team, every photosynthetic pigments in a plant has their role in absorbing wavelength to be used in making food.
Chlorophyll - absorbs yellow and blue wavelength and reflects green
Carotenoids - they are accessory pigments and function as light-harvesting pigment
Phycobilins - absorb yellow, green, orange and red light.

Answer:

There are four types of pigments found in plants; chlorophyll, carotenoids, flavonoids, and betalains.

Like players of a sports team play in the synchronized way in order to achieve a common goal of winning a tournament, pigments of a plant also play in a synchronized way to achieve a common goal.

For example, chlorophyll and carotenoids play together to utilize light energy of the sun for the process of photosynthesis.

Chlorophyll is major pigment which absorbs the yellow and blue wavelength of the light. Carotenoids serve as the accessory pigments which help in absorbing other wavelengths of light. In addition, they protect chlorophyll from photooxidative damage.

Similarly, flavonoids and betalains are water-soluble pigments which perform a common function of providing color to the parts of plants such as leaves, flowers, stem et cetera. It would help in insect pollination by attracting different types of insects.

Use the Hardy Weinberg equiation for population in assumed equilibrium. ( p+q = 1)

If p = 0.3 then q=1-p = 1-0.3 = 0.7

People who are heterozygous for the disease are represented by 2pq = 2 * 0.3 * 0.7

Explanation:

Continental drift was a theory that explained how continents shift position on Earth's surface. Set forth in 1912 by Alfred Wegener, a geophysicist and meteorologist, continental drift also explained why look-alike animal and plant fossils, and similar rock formations, are found on different continents.

ella [17]

Answer:

C. Scavenging of dead animals and gathering of plants (just as Homo <em>habilis</em> had done), and perhaps the hunting of smaller animals

Explanation:

Homo erectus probably ate meat, was around 1.5-1.8 meters tall and males were probably larger than females. As the name suggests they has erect posture. His skull was flatter than that of modern man and he had protruding jaws. Other features includes projecting brow ridges, small canines and large molar teeth. Their cranial capacity was 900 cc. Cranium was dome shaped to accommodate the large brain. Homo erectus was omnivorous and he made various tools using stones and bones. He made use of fire for hunting, defense and cooking. Homo erectus inculdes three fossils: Java Ape-man, Peking man and Heidelberg man.
