What does Daltry think caring about one snake is symbolic of?
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

Jenny Daltry thinks that caring about one snake is symbolic of how the safety of one species will lead to the overall safety of the others slowly. And in that process, it is ensuring that some endangered species do not go extinct.

Explanation:

Jenny Daltry is a conservation biologist whose work mostly centers around the 'unwanted' animals of the animal kingdom such as snakes and reptiles. She focuses on taking care of, helping in spreading awareness, and helping conserve snakes, crocodiles, and another lesser- wanted animals.

When asked why she works for such animals in particular the Antiguan racers, she replied, <em>"To me, it’s symbolic. If you don’t care about this particular snake, why should you care about anything else? Each one is part of a great web."</em> To her, taking care of one snake is symbolic of how one single living being is a part of a bigger cycle of the living world. So, if one was to take care of even a single snake, then it is a small step to ensuring that the others are also safe and the whole web is made safe and taken care of.

In 2–3 complete sentences, thoroughly explain the theme of your Module One short story. What message or big idea does the author
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

Difficult times can make someone lie.

Explanation:

In the story 'Condensed Milk', the author tries to communicate the idea that it is alright to lie when someone has bad intentions towards you. Though no specific phrase mentions this idea, we can understand through the whole story that the author did what was best for him which was by lying to Shestakov that he would go along with him if he bring him food. It was such a difficult time for him that he had to lie just to get some food.

The lines " 'You know,’ I said, carefully licking the spoon, ‘I changed my mind. Go without me.’" and "I mean, after all, two cans of condensed milk aren’t such a big deal." presents the idea that he lied to him because the escape plan was devised and he just wanted some food.

marshall27 [118]

The rhetorical device is used in the given sentence is, chiasmus.

Because A rhetorical device is a strategy used by authors or speakers to persuade readers or listeners to evaluate an issue from a particular perspective. It involves employing language that is intended to stimulate an emotive presentation of a particular perspective or action. Through the use of language, rhetorical devices can elicit an emotional response in the audience, although that is not their main goal.

Chiasmus, also known as chiasm, is the "reversal of grammatical structures in successive phrases or clauses - but no repetition of words" in rhetoric. The chiasmus has an effect. In addition to helping you communicate more with less, it draws attention to notions or ideas that are frequently used but contradict each other. With such a limited language, it serves as a "catchphrase" and catches the substance of a statement.
