The second great awakening were able to illustrate the democratization of American society because of the presence of religion in which they were able to show and go around in means of persuading other people who does not have a firm belief of something or those who are likely confused on what they would want to believe.

<u>The second great Awakening was the religious revival which was also protestant and this tool place during the earlier part of the 19th Century in United States. </u>This movement was initiated around 1790 and it gained momentum but at little pace till 1820 but after 1820 the members who followed it increased at rapid pace and many of those members were among Methodist and baptist congregations and that were preachers of these people who led this movement. It took place during the era of romanticism and it was more of characterized by emotion and enthusiasm. <u>Methodist and Baptist used to send preachers to meet the people who used to stay in backcountry and they did so because they wanted the support for the growth of membership of the Church. </u>Along with this, they also wanted to form new cogenerations. They were successful in their attempt in some parts of south where many common planters and slaves were converted. <u>After trying for some period, Finally preachers made big gains in increasing of church’s membership. </u>So, The second great awakening illustrated the democratization of American society as Preachers were audience centered and were easily understood by uneducated. They used to speak about opportunity of Salvation to everyone.
