Slant rhyme, also known as imperfect rhyme, near rhyme, half rhyme, lazy rhyme, or oblique rhyme, is a type of rhyme created by words that do not have exact end sounds. They sound similar but still do not rhyme perfectly.
Poets use slant rhyme when they can't find a perfect rhyme which has words that end with an identical stressed vowel sound; besides, all subsequent sounds also must be identical.
