If America was to be driven apart by political ideas, it would definitely give more representation to groups that have been otherwise frequently ignored. Their voice will be heard now that they have politicians giving them a say in how policies are made and the government is run. Although, on the other hand, this would also mean that getting everyone on the same page will be a lot more difficult given how alliances will form which may increase hostility between certain groups.
