The correct answer is D. The cow stood in udder amazement when she was unable to produce milk.

Explanation:

In language, a pun or paronomasia refers to a statement that uses play on words to create humor or entertain. Because of this, it is common puns use words with more than one meaning (homographic), words that sound similar (homophonic) or figurative language to create amusing but clever statements. Considering this, the sentence that is an example of a pun is  "The cow stood in udder amazement when she was unable to produce milk" because the word "udder" (organ of cows in which the milk is produced) sounds similar to the word "utter" ( complete or total). This means this statement uses homophobic to create an amusing statement and therefore is a pun or paronomasia.

What is the meaning of Socrate's comparison of society to a ship?
never [62]

Answer:

The Ship of State is a famous and oft-cited metaphor put forth by Plato in Book VI of the Republic (488a–489d). It likens the governance of a city-state to the command of a naval vessel and ultimately argues that the only people fit to be captain of this ship (Greek: ναῦς) are philosopher kings, benevolent men with absolute power who have access to the Form of the Good. The origins of the metaphor can be traced back to the lyric poet Alcaeus (frs. 6, 208, 249), and it is found in Sophocles' Antigone and Aeschylus' Seven Against Thebes before Plato.

Rewrite this unrestricted thesis statement to make it restricted.
hoa [83]

Answer:

First, a quick introduction.

Unrestricted thesis is a vary broad thesis that doesn't provide one clear topic to debate on.

Unlike this, restricted thesis is the one that is much more specific and narrower.

"Classical music is the basis for most rock music" leaves us on a to broad field for debate. There are countless ways this can be revised into restricted thesis. One can be more specific about what aspect of classical music, or which composer provided this basis. Also one could be more specific about genres of rock influenced by classical music etc.

For example, one of the possible revisions could be:

Mozart's chord progression provided a pattern that influenced classic rock bands.

This is now much more specific topic (restricted thesis) for debate.
