I believe that flashbacks could be used to slow the pace of a story. If you are telling one story, and then decide to introduce a flashback, that would only slow down the story you are already telling.

Halloween is a widely celebrated holiday around the world. It actually began as a Celtic tradition, very different from what we know Halloween as today. In the Celtic culture, Halloween was a festival where people felt close the deceased relatives and friends. To return the gratitude, these spirits would leave goods and treats and lit candles to guide loved ones back into the spirit world.

How can names represent our heritage and Who We Are
Oksana_A [137]

Answer: Names can represent a family line generation. Names can be passed on from generation to generation. Like if someone were to have a name give to them from their ×3 great grand mother then that can be a part of who you are and your heritage. Heritage means to be inherited, so if your name was passed down into you then that is a part of who you are.

Explanation: Think of this, if heritage means to be inherited (passed on) then that means that names can be your heritage and and can be a significant part of who you are. I hope this helped!!

It can be inferred that Shawn states that his best part was when his father put his arm around him because for long time he wanted to be very close to his father.

What does Shawn mean when he says that if he is any thing, he is memory?

At this point in the story, Shawn is struggling to recollect the memory of this father. Hence the reason why he states that He is now only a memory.

Will Shawns' Father kill him?

Shawn was shot on the street on his way home from getting his mother special soap for her eczema after killing a man called Frick, probably by whoever was seeking to revenge Frick's death.

The title of the story is "Long Way Down".
