The correct answer is D) all of the above were important factors in the Scramble for Africa.

The end of slavery trade, exploration and politics, Capitalism and medical advances, were important factors in the Scramble for Africa.

Historians name the Scramble for Africa the occupation and colonization of the African territories by European Imperialist nations such as Spain, France, Great Britain, and Portugal, from 1881 to 1914. This period is also known as the “Conquest of Africa” of the “Partition of Africa.” Most of the countries in Africa were under some sort of European rule by 1914, with the exception of Somali, Liberia, and Ethiopia. The Berlin Conference of 1884 served to the purpose of the colonization behind the facade of “help” or “assist” the countries of Africa.

What made travelling by land very difficult for ancient Greeks? Text to speech
Dmitry [639]

Answer:

A. Sharp rocks often ruined their wagons' wooden wheels.

Explanation:

Travel by land in ancient Greece was challenging. Roads filled with stones and dirt that were dry and dusty during the summer. Using wooden wheel wagons was impossible, as the roads were uneven and filled with rocks. For transportation, Greeks used horses and donkeys for a short distance. When a large number of goods needed to transport, water transportation used. Greeks much more accustomed to the waterways than the road as they built and learned to travel by ships.

Why did the transition to collectivization result in widespread starvation?
yKpoI14uk [10]
The transition to collectivization in the former Soviet Union caused widespread starvation, because there was a sudden disruption of production which happened because of collective farming and the mass seizure of property. Many of the land had become infertile, because of recent industrial developments and since it was a forced collectivization and completely controlled by the government, the people would receive as much money as they would produce. Of course this was impossible if their land was not fertile.
